BIOGRAPHY

David Smith was born in Røros, Norway in December 1986 and grew up in a large, loving and very musical family. His parents and five older siblings had recently moved to Norway from Liverpool. David started playing the piano at the age of four, adding the drums to his repertoire three years later, as well as the accordion for a short spell.

His parents showed him the magical world of classical music while his siblings brought The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Toto, Billy Joel and The Police into his life.

During his late teens, after moving closer to the Norwegian capital, David played drums for local funk bands Funky Fiona and Tocksick Dandruff. Since 2008 David has been the drummer in Norways hardest working CCR tribute band, Fortunate Sons, touring all across the country.

Since moving to Oslo David has played in several bands. He joined his brothers
band Light After Dark in 2006 as they started producing their 2020 release Fabled Foreign Scenes.

In 2011 David became a member of Rat Miller (previously Black Snakes). They recorded and released Electric Heartache in 2015.

David joined the psych rock outfit Mandalai Lamas when they formed in 2017 and plays drums on their two first albums, Here Comes the Mandalai Lamas (2019), and Out Of Time (2020).

David
s drumming and songwriting is also evident with the band Skånnråkk, particularly on their pandemic nearly-hit Corona Bonah (2021).
